ENDON AND LOCAL AREA

For a fantastic short break, family holiday or celebration we are ideally located in Endon, Staffordshire.

Endon is a quiet village conveniently located in the heart of Staffordshire between the historic market town of Leek and Stoke-on-Trent; the home of British ceramics.

Seeped in tradition Endon Village holds an annual ‘Well Dressing Festival’ every May where the large fountain well (located just past Rose Cottage at the junction with Gratton Lane) is beautifully decorated with flowers and the local community holds a small fete in the fields opposite the cottages.  Well Dressing is a delightful Peak District custom with many villages taking part with decorations and celebrations during May, you can find out more about the tradition on the ‘Visit Peak District’ website.

Within a short walk of the cottage you can find The Black Horse pub/restaurant which serves a great selection of food (including vegan options) and has live music every Saturday.  Next to the pub is a BP garage with a small shop selling a selection of essential items (including coal for the BBQ).

The centre of Endon is just a few minutes away by car and has a larger village shop and other useful facilities including a hairdresser and pharmacy along with additional eateries  The Railway Cafe and The Plough (Toby Carvery).  Slightly further on in Stockton Brook you can find Ego, a cocktail bar/restaurant with live entertainment, and Greenway Hall Golf Centre which has an attractive golf course, great food and a driving range so you can practice your swing.

Stoke-on-Trent is the nearest city with many bars, restaurants, theatres and music venues.  It also has a large shopping centre and cinema complex located in Hanley.  In the opposite direction is Leek which has a thriving antique market every Saturday and a selection of charming independent shops.
